From Melbourne we traveled to Barwon Heads to spend a few days exploring. This included touring a tall ship in Queenscliffe.

From Barwon Heads we drove southwest along the Great Ocean Toad. The road was built after World War I by veterans who had returned home shell shocked, I’ll, and in need of a job. The road was built as a long war memorial.

We spent a night in Apollo Bay and another nearby where we sighted our first koala just up the road from.Camp. We were fortunate enough to see others right in our campground in Great Otway National Park and along the road towards Port Campbell.

We visited the Cape Otway lighthouse on a blustery day.

We walked sections of the Great Ocean walk which is a 110km ling track that runs from Appollo Bay. Some of the days were windy and threatened rain squalls.

We had kangaroos at our camp.in Prince Town…

The most dramatic section of coast was around the 12 Apostles. The coast here is made up of tall cliffs of sandstone and some limestone and there are many sea stacks that give the region its name.
