From the coast we turned north to Grampians National Park. We spent a few nights camping and exploring the area. Our first full day was rainy so we took it easy and went to one f the cave shelter rock sites.

Aboriginal painting in Bunjils shelter.

We also walked to Silverbrand Falls.

Our second full.day was dry with some clouds and we took advantage of the weather to make a longer walk. We chose the Wonderland trail, a loop

The trail followed a creek along the base of.the ridge through forest and fern. Rounding a gap to the north we climbed steeply.

As we climbed, we noticed different plants I n bloom that we did not see below.

We took a break a t the top.for.lunch with a view overlooking Halls Gap and the plains beyond.

The best was yet to come. As we passed the Pinnacle the track wound downhill int I several narrow chasms formed by cracks in the sandstone formation.

We also explored two more rock art sites on our way west out of the park. The first was Gulgurn Manja.

The second was Ngamadjidji. Notable for being one of the few done with white.

We.left.the hills and drive west to South Australia and the coast….
