We drove northwest to Watarrka National Park for a night. The highlight here was a walk along kings canyon rim. The camp had wifi so able to post this short one.

There are cycads in places.here, survivors from.the age of the dinosaurs.

The rim sandstone has cross beds and although the rock is quartz rich, it is red due to an iron oxide coating that is fixed to the rock by fungi.

There are cases within the gorges that have plants and animals you wouldn’t expect here.

Rounded beehive domestic are a result of fractures in the rock and erosion.
