Alice and Wonderland

From the MacDonnell Range we went to Alice Springs for a couple of nights. Thanks to our hosts Tim, Emily and Lucy for putting us up! We met them.in Tasmania just a little over a month before.

We had a minor repair in Alice and a visit to the Desert Park before heading back on the road. We got to pet a dingo and saw an amazing raptor demonstration.

We drove north, spending a night at Karlu Karlu or the devil’s marbles. It was an interesting walk amongst the granite boulders.

Our second day out of Alice we made it to Katherine , where we discovered one of the brakes on the trailer was sticking. It was a holiday weekend and we had to wait until Tuesday for shops to open so we could get tools and parts. We took a break and tried to stay cool in the 36 degree humidity.

After repairing the brakes, we took a test drive out to explore the Katherine Katherine River gorge.

Once fixed we headed to Kununnura where we had a quick evening exploring nearby Mirima National Park and our first boab trees.

A resupply at the grocer and we were off on our 5 day adventure into the Kimberly.
